A MULTIFUNCTIONAL FARM
The Mafrica farm stands in an area where olive tree farming has been handed down from time immemorial, where nature has synthesized the best of its elements. The hill, mountain and marine climates interpenetrate with a land that, by composition and exposure to the sun, contains all the goodness that the earth can give.
THE CRADLE OF OLIVE GROWING
In this area, dedicated to olive growing and the cradle of highly prized oils, a team of international scholars carried out in 1955-57 the famous research known as the Seven Countries Study, which led to the birth of the Mediterranean Diet. It is in this context, pervaded with millenary history, that the Muzzupappa family has been operating for 3 generations, growing on an area of over 100 hectares of land 10,000 plants of the Ottobratica and Ciciarello varieties, cultivars that have found here for centuries their ideal habitat for a unique oil that is found nowhere else in the world.
The production chain
FROM THE OLIVE TREE TO YOUR TABLE
After a strict selection, the olives are washed and subjected to a gentle pressing, so that all the aromas contained in them are transferred to the oil. Each production stage is monitored and traced: an accurate and constant control, which guarantees quality and high nutritional and organoleptic values. The careful management of the territory, together with the excellent quality of this precious asset and the commitment of the farming enterprise to further enhance the product that is the basis of the Mediterranean Diet, has allowed the farm to achieve prestigious national awards.
RESPECT FOR NATURE
These are the key points of the successful strategy that make Mafrica a farm which has been able to interpret the best of this land for over 50 years. The farm is active throughout the oil supply chain, from the agricultural activity of olive tree farming, through the activity of olive processing into extra virgin olive oil, up to the marketing of the final product directly to the end-consumer. The business philosophy focused on the harmony between human work and respect for nature is the cornerstone that gives birth to all our products, in which you will recognize our land with its flavours and our work.
CITRUS FRUITS AND MARMALADES
Over the last few years, giving priority to the vocation of the area, about 10 ha of kiwi trees and 30 ha of citrus orchards were planted in the farm: Navel oranges, Ciaculli mandarins and native lemons, which are regularly shipped throughout Italy and abroad and which are largely processed into very tasty marmalades and compotes, in great demand by national and international markets.
The Oil Mill
The beating heart of the farm, which boasts a very high degree of sustainable technology and automation at every stage of production, with highly sustainable energy efficiency.
Extra virgin olive oil
It is oil made with careful attention to every detail from almost ripe olives, exclusively of the Ottobratica and Ciciarello cultivar varieties.
